About Laaza

Barcelona-born singer-songwriter Laura Aznar Grau, known professionally as Laaza, artfully bridges the gap between tradition and modernity through her distinctive musical vision. Her stage name cleverly fuses her first and last names into a single identity that reflects her artistic mission: to honor Spanish folk roots while reimagining them within contemporary pop frameworks. Laaza’s haunting voice fluidly weaves through traditional styles like the jota, a dynamic Spanish folk dance, and blends them with modern melodic sensibilities, creating a fresh yet authentic soundscape.

In May 2024, Laaza debuted with the album "Canciones para olvidarte," marking her official entry into the singer-songwriter scene. The record showcases her penchant for brutally honest lyrics and emotional transparency, resonating with listeners craving genuine storytelling. Since then, she has been deep in the studio crafting her sophomore album, which promises an intimate and vulnerable artistic journey that dialogues with both her cultural heritage and present-day influences.

Laaza’s evolving sound and thoughtful songwriting secure her a unique place in contemporary Spanish music. By melding ancestral heritage with candid expression, she invites a diverse audience into a musical experience that feels both timeless and strikingly current.
