About Nacho Vegas

Nacho Vegas, born in Gijón, Spain, is a seminal figure in Spanish and Latin American music, known for his deeply poetic songwriting and evolving artistic vision. He began his musical journey in the 1990s as a member of the band Manta Ray before launching a solo career in 2001 under the Madrid-based independent label Limbo Starr. Alongside this, Vegas also contributed to the Asturian group Lucas 15, solidifying his roots in regional collaboration.

In 2010, Nacho Vegas took creative control further by founding his own label, Marxophone Records. This move marked a turning point as his work grew increasingly socially and politically engaged, reflected in albums like "La Zona Sucia" and "Cómo Hacer Crac" (2011). His exploration of provocative themes continued through "Resituación" (2014) and the EP "Canciones Populistas," culminating in the acclaimed seventh album "Violética" (2018).

The 2019 double album "Oro, salitre y carbón" offered a comprehensive retrospective, featuring a decade’s highlights, rare tracks, and live performances. Demonstrating constant reinvention, Nacho Vegas ventured into new sonic territories with "La flor de la manzana" (2021) and his latest project, "Mundo inmóviles derrumbándose," which includes the single "El don de la ternura." Throughout his career, Vegas has masterfully blended rich storytelling with incisive social commentary, securing his status as a vital and enduring voice in contemporary Spanish music.
