About Gurriers

Emerging from Dublin’s vibrant music scene, Gurriers have quickly established themselves as a bold and uncompromising voice in contemporary punk. Their debut album, *Come and See* (2023), is an energetic and fiercely insightful exploration of global uncertainty and social unrest in the 21st century. Crafted by a five-member lineup, the album confronts a wide range of pressing issues—from the struggles of Dublin’s marginalized youth and the emotional toll of emigration to the alarming rise of far-right extremism and society’s growing desensitization to violence.

Gurriers’ songwriting deftly balances sharp political commentary with personal narratives. Tracks like “Des Goblin” dissect the pervasive narcissism fueled by online personas, while “Dipping Out” captures the widespread disillusionment among young people today. The biting irony of “Approachable” skewers extremist politics with a cheeky yet poignant edge. Even more intimate themes, such as a pope wrestling with faith and love, find their place in the album’s diverse tapestry.

Critics have been unanimous in their praise. Dork Magazine awarded *Come and See* a perfect score, calling it “unambiguous, unapologetic, and quite frankly unbelievable.” More than just a punk record, Gurriers’ debut stands as a powerful call to action, urging listeners to face the turmoil of our times head-on and resist complacency. As an urgent and fearless commentary on modern life, Gurriers continue to resonate with audiences seeking authenticity and raw passion in music.
