About Clipse

Clipse, the influential hip-hop duo from Virginia, consists of brothers Pusha T and Malice. Their journey began in the early 1990s when Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo of The Neptunes discovered their exceptional lyrical talent. Pharrell’s unwavering support helped Clipse secure a deal with Elektra Records; however, their initial single failed to gain traction. Undeterred, The Neptunes’ backing led to their breakthrough in 2002 with the release of their debut album, "Lord Willin’" (2002), under Star Trak/Arista. Anchored by the iconic single "Grindin’," the album achieved gold certification and landed in the top ten on both the Billboard 200 and R&B/Hip-Hop charts, marking Clipse as a fresh force in East Coast hip-hop.

Despite facing challenges including label mergers and legal battles that delayed their releases, Clipse persevered by founding their own imprint, Re-Up Records. Their sophomore album, "Hell Hath No Fury" (2006), earned critical acclaim for its sharp lyricism and masterful production, reaching number 14 on the Billboard 200. Transitioning to Columbia Records, Clipse released "Til the Casket Drops" (2009), collaborating with heavyweights like Kanye West, DJ Khalil, Keri Hilson, and continuing their work with The Neptunes. Revered for their gritty authenticity and pioneering sound, Clipse remain respected figures in hip-hop, celebrated for their lyrical prowess and lasting impact on the genre.
