About Tulsa

Tulsa is the musical project of Spanish artist Miren Iza, who has been crafting evocative, melodic pop narratives since her debut EP in 2006. Rooted in the Basque Country, she has developed a distinctive sound that seamlessly blends elements of blues, dream pop, and folk, drawing inspiration from iconic female vocalists such as Mari Trini, Bessie Smith, and Karen Dalton, as well as contemporary acts like Beach House. Known for her soulful voice and atmospheric arrangements, Tulsa combines introspective lyricism with richly layered instrumentation, creating emotionally resonant songs that capture both cinematic moods and heartfelt storytelling.

Miren Iza’s artistic vision extends beyond music. In 2015, she showcased her versatility by composing the original soundtrack for the Spanish film "Los exiliados románticos," highlighting her ability to translate narrative depth into immersive soundscapes. Over time, Tulsa has secured her place as a compelling voice in Spain’s indie music scene, particularly within the sphere of female-fronted rock and indie pop. Her work remains notable for its genre-blending approach and authentic emotional expression, making Tulsa a unique and influential presence in contemporary Spanish independent music.
