About Reverend Beat-Man

Reverend Beat-Man, born Beat Zeller in 1967 in Switzerland, stands as a seminal figure in the underground music landscape. Initially aspiring to become a comic book artist, Zeller shifted his creative focus to music at the early age of thirteen, beginning his journey under the alias Taeb Zerfall. He launched his own label, Zerfall Tapes, to release his earliest recordings. By 1984, he adopted the name Lightning Beat-Man and formed The Monsters, a garage rock band that helped cement his reputation in Europe’s alternative music underground.

Evolving into the Reverend Beat-Man persona, Zeller developed a raw and gritty sound blending garage punk, rockabilly, and primitive rock ’n’ roll. His solo work, often performed as a one-man band, captures an uncompromising DIY spirit and psychobilly intensity. Notable albums such as "Blues Trash" (2000) and "Baile Bruja Muerto" (2003) highlight his distinctive fusion of genres and outsider aesthetic.

Beyond his career as a musician, Reverend Beat-Man is the visionary founder of Voodoo Rhythm Records, an independent label based in Berne, Switzerland. The label serves as a crucial platform for psychobilly and alternative acts, helping to nurture a global community of like-minded artists. Revered for his artistic integrity and entrepreneurial drive, Reverend Beat-Man remains a cult icon whose influence resonates far beyond conventional genre boundaries.
