About Les Greene

Les Greene’s musical journey is a compelling tale of cultural fusion and personal triumph. Born in Baltimore but raised between the United States and his parents’ native Guyana, he spent his early years immersed in the remote jungles of South America before returning to Baltimore at age nine. This unique upbringing informed his eclectic sound, which melds diverse influences from legendary artists such as Sam Cooke, Nina Simone, Little Richard, Queen, Lauryn Hill, and TLC.

Despite a lifelong struggle with stage fright, Les Greene found his footing as a performer in Key West, Florida, where close friends encouraged him to embrace the stage. He began his career in the duo Applerouth Ln., later evolving into Patrick & The Swayzees, and ultimately performing as Les Greene & The Swayzees—often simply called The Swayzees. His artistry reflects a rich blend of soulful vocals and genre-crossing styles shaped by his bicultural heritage.

Les Greene gained wider recognition for his vocal portrayal of Little Richard in Baz Luhrmann’s critically acclaimed film *Elvis* (2022), contributing to its Grammy-nominated soundtrack, a milestone that brought his talent to a broader audience. His latest single, "Another Me," previews a forthcoming solo project with The Swayzees, described as a heartfelt collection of songs written in his youth and now fully realized. This new album marks a defining chapter in Greene’s evolving career, showcasing his continued growth as a visionary artist.
