About Goblyns

Goblyns, a vibrant trio originally from Gqeberha, South Africa, have established themselves as a compelling force in the contemporary music scene. Now splitting their base between Amsterdam and Berlin, the group consists of brothers Liam and Francis Broek alongside longtime collaborator Giovanni Votano. United by a shared passion and a lingering desire to create music together, Goblyns blend funk, soul, and psychedelic influences with krautrock-inspired grooves to produce a sound that is both hypnotic and irresistibly rhythmic.

Drawing inspiration from diverse artists such as The Meters, Kikagaku Moyo, Khruangbin, W.I.T.C.H., and CAN, Goblyns craft intricate, syncopated drum and bass patterns layered with fuzzy riffs. This fusion results in a uniquely captivating sonic experience that seamlessly merges sticky grooves with cosmic psychedelia.

The band made their official debut in 2023 with the EP "This Is Spaghettification," quickly gaining critical attention. Their first full-length album, "Hunki Bobo" (2024), released via Crazysane Records, solidified their reputation and was met with widespread acclaim, supporting a successful European tour. Fans and critics alike eagerly anticipate their sophomore album, "Three Sisters," slated for release in June 2025. Visions Magazine describes this upcoming work as "a balanced blend of mellow psych rock, rich global folk influences, and subtle nods to ’60s surf and exotica," highlighting Goblyns’ continual evolution.
