About Yellow Days

Yellow Days is the stage name of British singer-songwriter George van den Broek, born in Manchester and raised in Haselmere. Developing a passion for music early on, he began playing guitar at age eleven, drawing inspiration from iconic artists like Ray Charles, Mac DeMarco, and Thundercat. Yellow Days is celebrated for his distinctive throaty, soulful vocals combined with dreamy indie pop and psychedelic soul influences, creating a sound that is both intimate and atmospheric.

He first emerged on the music scene as a teenager in late 2015 with standalone singles, quickly making his mark with the debut EP "Harmless Melodies" (2016), which introduced his signature “swimmy” aesthetic. His breakthrough came with the critically acclaimed full-length album "Is Everything Okay in Your World?" (2017). This record featured a notable collaboration with hip-hop artist Rejjie Snow and expanded his audience, especially after the track "Gap in the Clouds" was featured in the trailer for Donald Glover’s acclaimed series *Atlanta*.

Following sold-out American club dates in 2018, Yellow Days relocated to Los Angeles, where he deepened his artistic exploration. His sophomore album, "A Day in a Yellow Beat" (2020), reflected new influences from the vibrant LA music scene and collaborators. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he showcased his growth as both songwriter and producer by self-releasing a trilogy of introspective EPs—"Slow Dance & Romance," "Apple Pie," and "Inner Peace" (all 2022). These works serve as a candid sonic diary, capturing his mindset amid lockdown while further carving his unique niche in modern indie soul-pop.

With an evolving yet instantly recognizable voice, Yellow Days continues to captivate listeners worldwide, blending nostalgia with fresh, heartfelt expression.
