About House of Lords

House of Lords is a distinguished American hard rock band that rose to prominence in 1987, emerging from the legacy of keyboardist Gregg Giuffria’s previous band, Giuffria. The group’s formation was notably influenced by Kiss bassist Gene Simmons, who discovered the band and played a crucial role in reshaping their sound by replacing original vocalist David Glen Eisley with James Christian, whose powerful voice helped steer the band towards a heavier, guitar-driven style distinct from their keyboard-centric origins.

The band made an impactful debut with their self-titled album *House of Lords* (1988), released on Simmons Records, which climbed to number 78 on the charts. Featuring the hit single "I Wanna Be Loved," peaking at number 58, the album established them firmly within the melodic hard rock and AOR scenes. Their follow-up album, *Sahara* (1990), included collaborations with celebrated musicians such as Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen and Robin Zander, as well as White Lion’s Mike Tramp. Despite critical praise and an AOR radio hit with their cover of Blind Faith’s "Can’t Find My Way Home," *Sahara* peaked modestly at number 121, resulting in parting ways with Simmons’ label.

As grunge reshaped the early ’90s rock landscape, House of Lords experienced a decline in commercial momentum, releasing *Demons Down* (1992) before entering an extended hiatus. The band later reunited in the mid-2000s, with James Christian at the helm, and rejuvenated their legacy with a string of well-received albums including *Come to My Kingdom* (2008), *Indestructible* (2015), and *Saints and Sinners* (2022). Through evolving lineups and shifting musical trends, House of Lords remains a steadfast pillar of melodic hard rock, celebrated for their dynamic songwriting and enduring appeal.
