About The Fratellis

Emerging from Glasgow in 2005, The Fratellis are a dynamic indie rock trio consisting of vocalist and guitarist Jon Fratelli, drummer Mince Fratelli, and bassist Barry Fratelli. They quickly distinguished themselves with a witty, melodic sound, first gaining momentum through their limited-edition self-titled EP (2006). The acoustic track "Creepin Up the Backstairs" notably earned heavy airplay on Zane Lowe’s Radio One show, setting the stage for greater success.

Their breakthrough arrived with singles like "Henrietta," which cracked the UK Top 20, followed by the infectious anthem "Chelsea Dagger," a song that transcended music charts to become a staple anthem for the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks. The band’s debut album, "Costello Music" (2006), peaked at number two on the UK charts and won a BRIT Award, cementing their status in the British indie scene. While the album had limited initial impact abroad, tracks such as "Flathead" gained international recognition, including featuring in an American iPod commercial.

After releasing their polished follow-up, "Here We Stand" (2008), which included the single "Mistress Mabel," The Fratellis went on hiatus. During this break, Jon Fratelli explored solo efforts like "Psycho Jukebox" (2011) and the project Codeine Velvet Club, while Barry and Mince pursued other musical avenues. Reuniting in 2012, they returned with a string of albums: "We Need Medicine" (2013), "Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied" (2015)—produced by Tony Hoffer, who had also shaped their debut—and "In Your Own Sweet Time" (2018). This latest effort featured the disco-tinged single "The Next Time We Wed," highlighting their evolving sound and enduring energy.

The Fratellis’ blend of catchy hooks, storytelling lyrics, and infectious rhythms has secured their place as a defining force within indie rock, with a legacy that continues to resonate both in the UK and internationally.
