About Rhapsody of Fire

Rhapsody of Fire is a pioneering Italian symphonic power metal band that emerged in the late 1990s, originally formed under the name Rhapsody. The founding lineup featured Fabio Lione on vocals, Luca Turilli on guitar, Alex Staropoli on keyboards, Alessandro Lotta on bass, and Alex Holzwarth on drums. They quickly gained acclaim with their debut concept album, "Legendary Tales" (1997), which launched the epic "Emerald Sword Saga"—a sweeping narrative continued through "Symphony of Enchanted Lands" (1998), "Dawn of Victory" (2000), and "Power of the Dragonflame" (2002).

Following legal challenges in 2005, the band rebranded as Rhapsody of Fire but preserved their trademark fusion of intricate, Baroque-inspired arrangements and cinematic storytelling. This new chapter began with "Symphony of Enchanted Lands, Vol. 2: The Dark Secret" (2004) and extended across albums like "Frozen Tears of Angels" (2010) and "From Chaos to Eternity" (2011), developing what they called the "Dark Secret Saga."

In 2011, co-founder Luca Turilli parted ways to pursue his own projects, prompting lineup changes including guitarist Roby De Micheli. The band’s evolving sound was showcased on "Dark Wings of Steel" (2013), "Into the Legend" (2014), and later "The Eighth Mountain" (2019), which introduced new vocalist Giacomo Voli and drummer Manu Lotter. Throughout their career, Rhapsody of Fire has maintained their reputation as a cornerstone of the symphonic power metal genre, celebrated for blending grandiose orchestration with powerful metal craftsmanship and epic fantasy storytelling.
