About DJ Storm

DJ Storm, born Kemistry Storm in Scotland, is widely recognized as a pioneering figure in the drum and bass scene since the early 1990s. After relocating to London, she became a vital member of the influential Metalheadz collective, co-founded by Goldie. Alongside her late partner Kemistry, she formed a groundbreaking DJ duo and served as A&R representatives for Metalheadz Recordings, playing a crucial role in shaping the label’s reputation and nurturing emerging talent within the genre.

Known for her exceptional technical skill behind the decks and her deep understanding of crowd dynamics, DJ Storm captivated audiences with sets that masterfully blended dark, atmospheric tones and driving basslines. Her dynamic approach to mixing contributed to the evolution of drum and bass, while her extensive touring schedule kept her at the forefront of the electronic music circuit. Despite personal tragedy with the loss of Kemistry in 1999, DJ Storm has remained a steadfast force, releasing critically acclaimed mixes and continuing to influence the scene.

Beyond her performances and productions, DJ Storm is celebrated for her advocacy and mentorship, breaking barriers as a prominent female artist in a male-dominated industry. Her enduring impact, innovative sound, and dedication have solidified her status as a true icon in drum and bass culture.
