About Joss Stone

Joss Stone, born Joscelyn Eve Stoker in 1987 in Kent, England, is a British singer and songwriter celebrated for her powerful, soulful voice deeply rooted in vintage R&B traditions. Nurtured by the influence of American soul legends like Aretha Franklin, Stone first gained attention by winning a BBC singing competition at just 14, which led to a pivotal audition in New York with S-Curve Records.

Her breakthrough arrived with the multi-platinum debut album "The Soul Sessions" (2003), a compelling collection of classic soul covers that sold over five million copies worldwide. Stone quickly followed with "Mind, Body & Soul" (2004), an album showcasing her growth as a songwriter, topping UK charts and earning her two BRIT Awards alongside multiple Grammy nominations. This made her the youngest female artist to top the UK charts at the time.

Over the years, Joss Stone has evolved musically, exploring genres from modern R&B in "Introducing Joss Stone" (2007) to reggae-infused sounds on "Water for Your Soul" (2015). Her collaborations with acclaimed artists such as Betty Wright, Raphael Saadiq, John Legend, and Dave Stewart highlight her versatility. Notably, she joined the supergroup SuperHeavy in 2011, performing alongside Mick Jagger and Damian Marley.

Stone continued to release acclaimed work, including "The Soul Sessions, Vol. 2" (2012) and "Never Forget My Love" (2022), the latter reunited with producer Dave Stewart. Demonstrating a dynamic presence beyond music, she portrayed Anne of Cleves in the TV series "The Tudors" and won the UK’s version of "The Masked Singer" in 2021, affirming her enduring appeal across entertainment genres.
