About Miguel

Miguel Jontel Pimentel, a native of Los Angeles’ San Pedro neighborhood, has established himself as one of contemporary R&B’s most captivating voices. Beginning his musical journey at sixteen with the production company Drop Squad, Miguel chose to pursue a solo path over joining the R&B group Fatty Koo. After signing with Jive Records in the mid-2000s, he gradually built his reputation through underground collaborations with artists such as Blu, Exile, and Daz-I-Kue.

Miguel’s breakthrough came in 2010 when he co-wrote Jaheim’s Grammy-nominated single "Finding My Way Back," which reached number 12 on the R&B/Hip-Hop charts. Later that year, he skyrocketed as a solo artist with the Top Ten R&B hit "All I Want Is You," the title track of his debut album. His 2012 album, "Kaleidoscope Dream," further solidified his position in the genre, earning widespread acclaim and a Grammy win for Best R&B Song with the platinum-certified single "Adorn."

Continuing to innovate, Miguel released the sultry and atmospheric "Wildheart" (2015) and the genre-blending "War & Leisure" (2017), which featured the platinum hit "Sky Walker" with Travis Scott. Beyond his solo success, Miguel has contributed to numerous gold and platinum collaborations, including Mariah Carey’s "#Beautiful," A$AP Rocky’s "Everyday," and Mac Miller’s "Weekend." Demonstrating versatility, he also expanded into the Latin music scene with his Spanish-language EP "Te Lo Dije."

With his smooth vocals, sensual style, and seamless fusion of pop, hip-hop, and R&B, Miguel remains a prominent and influential figure in modern music.
