About Beret

Francisco Javier Álvarez Beret, known simply as Beret, is a celebrated Spanish singer-songwriter born in Seville in 1996. From an early age, he immersed himself in various musical styles, notably rap and reggae, which laid the foundation for his distinctive urban pop sound infused with reggae influences. Beret initially gained attention by sharing homemade recordings on YouTube, where his authentic and heartfelt approach quickly amassed a loyal following.

His breakthrough came with the soaring success of the single "Lo Siento," which achieved five-times platinum status in Spain and dominated national radio charts. The track’s popularity soared even further following a duet version featuring Mexican singer Sofía Reyes, expanding his reach across Latin America. This hit earned Beret the Best Song award at the 2019 Los 40 Music Awards, while he was named Best Artist at the 2020 Premios Odeón.

In October 2019, Beret released his highly anticipated album *Prisma*, marking a milestone in his career. The album features collaborations with prominent artists such as Pablo Alborán, Melendi, Vanesa Martín, Sofía Reyes, and Sebastián Yatra. *Prisma* debuted at number two on Spain’s physical album chart and made history by holding the top spot on streaming charts for eight consecutive weeks, ultimately earning a gold certification.

Beret continues to captivate a diverse and international audience with his sincere songwriting and fluid blend of genres, proving himself as a defining voice in contemporary Spanish music.
