About FKA twigs

Born Tahliah Debrett Barnett in Cheltenham, England, FKA twigs has risen to prominence as one of contemporary music’s most innovative and multifaceted artists. Drawing from her rich cultural heritage—her English mother and Jamaican father were both creative professionals—she has crafted a distinctive artistic identity that blends singing, songwriting, dance, acting, and modeling. This seamless fusion transcends traditional genre boundaries, positioning her as a trailblazer in modern pop and alternative music.

FKA twigs gained widespread recognition through her groundbreaking sound and visuals, culminating in her 2022 mixtape *CAPRISONGS*, which pushed musical and stylistic limits. This project earned her the NME Godlike Genius Award, making her the youngest artist ever to receive this prestigious honor. Her creative talents extend beyond music; she made a striking solo debut with the Martha Graham Dance Company during their 98th season gala in New York, reflecting her deep commitment to dance as a vital part of her artistry.

Her influence also reaches fashion and contemporary culture, exemplified by her British Vogue cover appearances. Industry accolades continue to follow, including a Music Producers Guild award for outstanding contribution to UK music. As FKA twigs prepares for her next album, she remains a visionary force, captivating audiences worldwide with her fearless innovation and genre-defying artistry.
