About Nabiyah Be

Nabiyah Be is a dynamic Brazilian-Jamaican artist celebrated for her multifaceted talents as a singer, songwriter, producer, actress, poet, and dancer. Drawing deeply from her rich cultural heritage that bridges Brazil, Jamaica, and America, Nabiyah Be crafts a distinctive musical style that seamlessly blends global sounds with introspective lyricism. Praised by The New York Times for her “spellbinding” voice, she has carved a niche as a compelling performer across music, theater, and film.

Her groundbreaking achievements include becoming the first Black Brazilian woman to win a Drama Desk Award, a historic milestone highlighting her influence in theater. Nabiyah Be’s acting career is equally impressive, featuring a standout role in the Tony and Grammy-winning musical *Hadestown* (2019), where her captivating performances drew critical acclaim. She also portrayed disco icon Simone Jackson in the Emmy-winning limited series *“Daisy Jones & The Six”* (2023) and appeared as the villainous Linda in the Oscar-winning film *Black Panther* (2018).

In 2024, Nabiyah Be ventured further into music with the release of three vibrant singles—“POÇO AZUL,” “EVERYBODY,” and “HERO.” Co-produced with Marcelo de Lamare and C-AFROBRASIL, these tracks showcase the eclectic fusion that defines her evolving sound and introduce her debut album.
