About Dadju

Dadju Djuna Nsungula, known simply as Dadju, was born in 1991 in Bobigny, Seine-Saint-Denis, France, into a remarkable musical family. His father, Djanana Djuna, was a vocalist who collaborated with the legendary soukous star Papa Wemba, while his brother, Maître Gims, is one of France’s most successful rappers. Despite this strong artistic legacy, Dadju has skillfully crafted his own unique presence in the French music scene.

He first gained recognition as one half of the rap duo The Shin Sekaï, alongside rapper Abou Tall. Together, they released two mixtapes before achieving mainstream success with their 2016 album "Indéfini," which featured the standout hit "Aime moi demain." After the duo parted ways, Dadju launched his solo career with the 2017 album "Gentleman 2.0," marking a shift toward melodic pop with his distinct tenor voice, a clear departure from his brother’s deeper baritone style.

Dadju continued to build his reputation with emotionally charged singles like "Jaloux" (2018) and "Compliqué" (2019), blending pop-trap with urban Afrobeats influences. His ambitious 29-track double album "Poison Ou Antidote" solidified his place in contemporary French music, quickly earning platinum certification. Throughout his evolving sound, Dadju remains rooted in his heritage by weaving traditional soukous elements into his music, balancing innovation with respect for his cultural origins. This fusion has not only defined his artistic identity but also helped him secure a loyal fan base across francophone countries and beyond.
