About TLC

TLC, formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1991, stands as one of the most influential and best-selling female groups in music history. The trio—comprising rapper Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes and vocalists Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas—masterfully blended funk-infused R&B with catchy pop hooks and bold confidence. After signing with LaFace Records, they debuted with "Ooooooohhh... On the TLC Tip" (1992), an album that introduced hits like "Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg" and "Baby-Baby-Baby," capturing audiences with their energetic style and outspoken image.

TLC reached superstardom with their sophomore album, "CrazySexyCool" (1994). This Grammy-winning, diamond-certified record polished their sound and produced iconic singles such as "Creep" and the seven-week Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping "Waterfalls." Selling over 11 million copies in the U.S. alone, the album cemented their legacy in both pop and R&B. After navigating internal tensions, the group released "FanMail" (1999), debuting at number one and spawning empowering anthems like "No Scrubs" and "Unpretty," which won them another Grammy.

Tragedy struck when Lopes died in a 2002 car accident in Honduras during the making of their fourth album, "3D," which still achieved double platinum status. Watkins and Thomas have since honored TLC’s legacy, continuing to perform and releasing a self-titled album in 2017. Celebrated for their groundbreaking music, bold fashion, and cultural impact, TLC remains a lasting force in contemporary music history.
