About Mato Seco

Mato Seco has established itself as a formidable presence in Brazil’s contemporary reggae scene, captivating audiences with its authentic and vibrant sound. The seven-piece band features Rodrigo Piccolo on vocals and guitar, Eric Oliveira on guitar, Osvaldo Ciziniaukas Jr. on bass, João Paz on organ and piano, Tiago Rezende on drums, alongside percussionists and vocalists Carlos Eduardo Gonçalves and Mauro Peres Jr. Since their inception, Mato Seco has chosen an independent path, releasing three studio albums and a live DVD without major label backing. This grassroots approach has fueled a strong, dedicated fan base and made their live shows a staple for reggae lovers nationwide.

Mato Seco’s music skillfully merges traditional reggae rhythms with distinctive Brazilian influences, creating a sound that is both deeply rooted and refreshingly original.
