About S U R V I V E

S U R V I V E is an influential analog electronic quartet hailing from Austin, Texas, renowned for their unique fusion of vintage horror and sci-fi film score elements with experimental ambient and minimal wave textures. Formed in 2009 by Adam Jones, Kyle Dixon, Mark Donica, and Michael Stein—key figures in Austin’s vibrant synthesizer community—the group quickly garnered a dedicated cult following. Their early releases, including the debut EP "LLR002" (2010) and the self-titled album "S U R V I V E" (2011) on Mannequin Records, showcase their signature blend of atmospheric soundscapes ranging from expansive cosmic explorations to intimate lo-fi electro.

S U R V I V E’s rise to international prominence was cemented when members Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein composed the haunting, Emmy-winning score for Netflix’s breakthrough series "Stranger Things" (2016). That same year, the band released "RR7349" through Relapse Records, followed by the remix collection "RR7387" (2017), further demonstrating their deft command of analog synth-driven music. Alongside studio projects, S U R V I V E are celebrated for immersive live performances, having shared stages with iconic acts like Goblin, Lightning Bolt, and Xeno & Oaklander.

With their evocative blend of retro-futuristic melodies and experimental textures, S U R V I V E continues to push the boundaries of modern electronic music, remaining a vital force in the synthwave, dark ambient, and analog synth scenes worldwide.
