About Christopher Owens

Christopher Owens first rose to prominence as the lead vocalist and songwriter for the influential indie band Girls. Hailing from Miami, Owens helped shape the indie rock scene with the band’s critically acclaimed albums, culminating in their 2011 release, *Father, Son, Holy Ghost*. Following the band’s dissolution, Owens launched a solo career marked by deeply personal and candid songwriting. His debut solo album, *Lysandre* (2011), showcased his narrative storytelling and introspective style, followed by *A New Testament* (2014) and *Chrissybaby Forever* (2015), each reflecting his evolving artistic maturity and emotional depth.

Beyond his solo work, Owens explored new sonic territories with the project Curls in 2017, further demonstrating his versatility as an artist. After years of both creative highs and personal challenges, Owens relocated from San Francisco to New York in 2024. This move coincided with a reunion with True Panther Records, the label that first supported Girls' breakthrough. Marking a pivotal comeback, he released “I Think About Heaven,” his first single in seven years. The track offers a gently uplifting message, capturing Owens’ renewed passion and sense of purpose in his ongoing musical journey.
