About Bicep

Bicep is the acclaimed electronic music duo from Belfast, comprising Andy Ferguson and Matt McBriar. United by a shared passion for analog dance music, disco, Chicago house, Detroit techno, and Italo-disco, their musical journey began in their teens through vinyl collecting and DJing. Inspired by the 1977 Arnold Schwarzenegger documentary *Pumping Iron*, from which they drew both their name and aesthetic, they launched the influential blog *Feel My Bicep*. This platform showcased eclectic mixes, re-edits, and guest features from notable artists such as Simian Mobile Disco and Ben Sun, establishing their footprint in the underground dance scene.

Their breakthrough came with the 2010 single "Darwin" released on Throne of Blood, supported by key figures like Tim Sweeney and topping the Boomkat chart. This track also became XLR8R's most downloaded of the year, propelling Bicep into global DJ bookings and remix projects for artists including Blood Orange and Chamboche. Following this, they launched their own *Feel My Bicep* label, releasing standout club anthems like "Vision of Love"—later remixed by Carl Craig—and the 2015 track-of-the-year "Just," honored by Mixmag and DJ Mag.

After relocating to London, Bicep’s evolution from DJs to live performers culminated with their 2017 signing to Ninja Tune and the release of their self-titled debut album. Featuring singles like "Glue" and "Aura," the album solidified their reputation for innovative club music and electrifying live shows. Today, Bicep remains a vital force in electronic music, blending nostalgic influences with forward-thinking production.
