About King África

King África is a dynamic Argentine music project led by Martín Laacré, which rose to prominence in the early 1990s. The group first captured attention with their debut single "EOE" (1992), but it was their 1993 platinum-selling album *El Africano* that truly solidified their place in Latin pop music. This album featured the infectious hits "SALTA" and "Póntelo Pónselo," both of which became anthems across Latin America and contributed to the project’s widespread acclaim.

In 1994, King África released a live album that showcased the electrifying energy of their extensive South American tour, followed by the studio album *Al Palo* (1994). This record delivered fan favorites including the title track "Al Palo" and the catchy "Mama Yo Quiero." Their rising international profile was cemented by a standout performance at the prestigious Viña del Mar International Song Festival in Chile in 1995, expanding their fanbase across the continent.

Continuing to innovate, King África released the album *Remix*, blending remixed versions of their biggest hits with fresh material, and supported it with tours that spanned Latin America, the United States, and Europe. Although Martín Laacré stepped away from the project in 1997, he revived King África in 2009, bringing his signature vibrant Latin dance beats to new generations. Today, King África remains a beloved icon in Latin pop and dance music history, known for his energetic performances and catchy, enduring hits.
