About 分島花音

Kanon Wakeshima (分島花音), born on June 28, 1988, is a renowned Japanese musician, vocalist, and classically trained cellist celebrated for her distinctive fusion of classical instrumentation with contemporary pop. She launched her professional career under DefStar Records in 2008, gaining widespread recognition with her debut single "Still Doll," which became the haunting ending theme for the popular anime *Vampire Knight*. This early success was further enhanced by her collaboration with the influential producer Mana, known for his work in the Japanese music and fashion scenes, who played a pivotal role in shaping her unique sound.

Continuing her close ties to the anime world, Kanon released her second single, "Suna no Oshiro," in the same year as the closing theme for *Vampire Knight Guilty*, the series' second season. In addition to her musical contributions, she showcased her versatility by providing the voice for a maid character in the anime’s eighth episode. Recognized not only for her haunting vocals but also her skills as a cellist and composer, Kanon Wakeshima quickly established herself as a fresh and innovative presence in Japan’s music industry. Her rising influence was marked by a nomination for Best Newcomer at the 2008 Shōjo Beat Music Awards, an honor reflecting the collective enthusiasm of industry experts and fans alike.
