About Red Velvet

Red Velvet, a South Korean girl group formed in 2014, has become a powerhouse in the global K-pop scene. Consisting of five talented members—Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy, and Yeri—the group made an immediate impact with their debut single "Happiness" (2014). Known for their unique musical style that effortlessly blends vibrant pop with sophisticated, velvety R&B sounds, Red Velvet has consistently pushed creative boundaries throughout their career.

Their early achievements include chart-topping albums such as *Ice Cream Cake* (2015), *The Red* (2015), *The Velvet* (2016), and the hit single "Russian Roulette" (2016), all securing top positions in South Korea’s competitive music market. In 2017, Red Velvet gained international acclaim as *Rookie*, *The Red Summer*, and *Perfect Velvet* all reached number one on Billboard’s World Albums chart. The single "Bad Boy" from *Perfect Velvet* highlighted their global appeal, peaking at number three on the same chart and marking their strongest U.S. sales to date.

Continuing their upward trajectory, the group’s 2019 album *The ReVe Festival: Finale* featured the smash hit "Psycho," which topped Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart and made Red Velvet the first female K-pop act to dominate iTunes Top Albums charts across 44 countries. Their 2021 EP *Queendom* further cemented their status, earning number one spots in South Korea and on iTunes in 51 countries. Known as the "Summer Queens" of K-pop, Red Velvet’s versatile sound and charismatic performances have ensured their lasting influence in the global music industry.
