About SHINee

SHINee, formed in 2008 by SM Entertainment, stands as one of South Korea’s most influential boy bands, renowned for their pioneering blend of electronic dance-pop and intricate choreography. The group consists of Lee "Onew" Jinki, Kim Jonghyun, Kim "Key" Kibum, Choi Minho, and Lee Taemin. Their debut mini-album, "Replay" (2008), instantly made waves by reaching number eight on Korean charts and launching the iconic "SHINee Trend," which significantly influenced youth fashion.

Building on this momentum, SHINee released "The SHINee World," which initially peaked at number three but later soared to number one with its repackaged version, "Amigo." Their streak of chart-toppers continued with releases like "Romeo" (2009), "Year of Us" (2009), and "Lucifer" (2010). In Japan, SHINee made history as the first foreign act to place their first three singles within the Top Three on the Oricon charts, highlighting their expanding international appeal.

SHINee’s global recognition was cemented in 2011 when they became the first Korean group to sell out a solo concert in London in under a minute. Albums such as "Dream Girl, Vol. 1: The Misconceptions of You" and "Why So Serious?: The Misconceptions of Me" (both 2013) reached the top of Billboard’s World Albums chart, reflecting their worldwide influence.

Despite the tragic loss of Jonghyun in 2017, SHINee honored his legacy through the 2018 release of the three-part EP series "The Story of Light," featuring hits like "I Want You" and "Our Page." Over their enduring career, SHINee has not only shaped the K-pop landscape with innovative music and style but also built a devoted global fanbase, solidifying their status as legends of modern pop.
