About Ska-P

Formed in Madrid in 1994, Ska-P is one of Spain’s most influential ska-punk bands, celebrated for their infectious fusion of upbeat ska rhythms and aggressive punk energy. Their name, a clever play on the Spanish word for "escape," perfectly captures their rebellious spirit and commitment to social change. From their eponymous debut album released the same year, Ska-P quickly gained traction within Spain’s rock en español scene and beyond, earning a dedicated fanbase across Europe and Latin America.

Known for blending sharp political commentary with humor, Ska-P champions leftist ideals and social justice through provocative, yet catchy, lyrics. Their 2002 album "Que Corra la Voz" represents a creative and ideological high point, cementing their reputation as outspoken critics of authority and inequality. After announcing an indefinite hiatus in 2005, the band concluded that chapter with a farewell concert near Madrid that attracted over 10,000 fans, underscoring their cultural impact.

Ska-P reunited in 2008, releasing "Lágrimas y Gozos" and embarking on a reunion tour that reaffirmed their lasting relevance. Renowned for energetic live shows and steadfast dedication to activism, Ska-P continues to inspire generations as a cornerstone of the global ska-punk movement, maintaining a vital presence in the landscape of socially conscious music.
