About The Smashing Pumpkins

The Smashing Pumpkins, formed in Chicago in 1988, are a landmark band in alternative rock history. With over 30 million albums sold worldwide, they have garnered critical acclaim and prestigious awards, including two Grammy Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, and an American Music Award. Their breakthrough came with the platinum debut album "Gish" (1991), followed by the quadruple-platinum "Siamese Dream" (1993), which helped define the ’90s rock sound. Their 1995 diamond-certified double album "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" remains a towering achievement, earning both commercial success and a place on Rolling Stone’s "500 Greatest Albums of All Time."

The band continued to evolve with notable releases such as the platinum "Adore" (1998) and gold-certified "Machina/The Machines of God" (2000). After a hiatus, The Smashing Pumpkins returned with renewed energy, releasing "SHINY AND OH SO BRIGHT, VOL. 1 / LP: NO PAST. NO FUTURE. NO SUN." (2018) and embarking on a successful arena tour. They sustained their creative drive with the ambitious double album "CYR" (2020) and the conceptual sequel "ATUM" (2023), which revisited themes from their mid-1990s work. Looking ahead to 2024, the original lineup—Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, and James Iha—reunites for the much-anticipated "AGHORI MHORI MEI," promising a return to the raw, guitar-driven intensity that defined their influential early sound.
