About Longy

Longy is a fierce singer-songwriter and producer originating from Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England, known for his self-coined genre "Gospel Trash." This distinctive sound merges gritty, raw street influences with deeply emotional storytelling, delivering music that feels both noisy and viscerally authentic. Drawing inspiration from rock and roll pioneers like Buddy Holly’s melodic charm and Little Richard’s explosive energy, Longy’s music captures a unique blend of grit and soul.

His career is marked by relentless dedication and resilience. From countless hours spent busking on seaside streets to performing over 500 shows in a single year, Longy has endured intense physical challenges, including a serious back injury, and navigated turbulent tours fraught with band conflicts and promoter disputes. Despite these hardships, he has cultivated a reputation for powerful live performances that shake audiences while offering a reflective mirror to their own struggles.

Although Longy has yet to release a full-length album, his work continues to resonate, capturing fans with its raw honesty and striking emotional depth. His music and performances defy convention, establishing Longy as a compelling and enduring figure in the UK music scene, whose evolving narrative promises much more to come.
