About FONTAINES D.C.

Fontaines D.C., the influential Dublin-based post-punk band, has been a defining force in contemporary Irish music since their formation in 2017. Comprising vocalist Grian Chatten, guitarists Carlos O’Connell and Conor Curley, bassist Conor Deegan, and drummer Tom Coll, the quintet quickly gained acclaim for their poetic lyricism and dynamic sound. Their 2022 album, "Skinty Fia," marked a critical milestone, solidifying their reputation with compelling songwriting and raw energy.

In 2024, Fontaines D.C. unveiled their most ambitious project yet with the release of "ROMANCE," their fourth studio album. Produced by renowned producer James Ford and released via XL Recordings, this record features eleven tracks that reflect the band’s broadening musical horizons. The creative process for "ROMANCE" was shaped significantly by their extensive touring with Arctic Monkeys across the United States and Mexico, inspiring both collective experimentation and individual growth.

Each member enriched the album through unique personal journeys—O’Connell in Spain’s Castile-La Mancha, Chatten in Los Angeles, and Deegan in Paris—before regrouping in London for pre-production. The band then secluded themselves in a French chateau to fully immerse in writing and recording, resulting in a sound that is both expansive and sonically adventurous. With bold riffs and intricate lyrics, Fontaines D.C. continues to push creative boundaries, earning accolades such as Brit Awards and maintaining their pivotal role in modern post-punk music.
