About Bedouine

Bedouine, the stage name of Azniv Korkejian, is a Syrian-born Armenian-American singer-songwriter whose music weaves together 1960s folk, 1970s country-funk, and subtle bossa nova influences. Born in Aleppo, Syria, Bedouine’s early years were marked by frequent moves—from Saudi Arabia to various U.S. cities like Boston and Houston—after her family won a Green Card lottery. This nomadic upbringing inspired her evocative stage name, symbolizing a life of constant movement and a complex sense of belonging.

Her artistic journey continued across the American landscape, including a surprising chapter working on a Kentucky horse farm and engaging with Austin’s vibrant music scene. She later pursued a degree in sound design in Savannah, Georgia, before ultimately settling in Los Angeles. There, Bedouine found a creative haven in Echo Park’s supportive indie community, where her introspective lyricism and intricate guitar work blossomed.

Known for her haunting voice and sophisticated storytelling, Bedouine’s music captures themes of displacement, longing, and identity with a timeless intimacy. Her carefully crafted sound has earned critical acclaim and a devoted following within the indie folk scene.
