About Tycho

Tycho is the ambient electronic music project led by San Francisco-based artist Scott Hansen, renowned for blending ethereal melodies with intricate beats to craft expansive sonic landscapes. Hansen’s musical journey began in the early 2000s with the release of the EP "The Science of Patterns." His debut album, "Sunrise Projector" (2004), set the foundation for his signature sound, which further evolved in the critically acclaimed "Past Is Prologue" (2006).

Tycho’s sound matured into a richly textured experience with the release of "Dive" (2011), marking the start of a trilogy that included "Awake" (2014) and the GRAMMY-nominated "Epoch" (2016). This period saw collaborations with guitarist Zac Brown and the addition of drummer Rory O’Connor, transforming Tycho from a solo electronic project into a dynamic multi-instrumental live act. In 2019, Hansen expanded his palette by introducing vocalist Saint Sinner on the album "Weather," which earned a second GRAMMY nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album and was accompanied by the instrumental companion release "Simulcast."

Besides original works, Tycho has gained recognition for remixing tracks by prominent artists such as Odesza, Leon Bridges, Maggie Rogers, and Death Cab For Cutie. Collaborations with artists like alt-R&B singer rum.gold further underscore Hansen’s versatility and commitment to innovation. Over two decades, Tycho has developed from a solo ambient experiment into a captivating audiovisual phenomenon, consistently captivating a global audience with its immersive and atmospheric soundscapes.
