About The Rapture

Emerging from New York City's dynamic music scene in 1998, The Rapture quickly became a defining voice in the early 2000s post-punk revival movement. Founded by drummer Vito Roccoforte and guitarist-vocalist Luke Jenner, the band initially toured extensively, releasing their debut mini-album *Mirror* (1999). The lineup crystallized with bassist Matt Safer joining by 2001 for the *Out of the Races and Onto the Tracks* EP, followed by keyboardist Gabriel Andruzzi in 2002, solidifying their signature sound.

The Rapture’s breakthrough came with the 2003 single "House of Jealous Lovers," produced in collaboration with the influential DFA team. This track masterfully fused post-punk grit with dance rhythms and electronic flair, propelling the band into the international spotlight. Their debut full-length album, *Echoes* (2003), was critically acclaimed and produced multiple UK Top 40 hits, cementing their standing in alternative and dance-punk circles.

In 2006, The Rapture released *Pieces of the People We Love*, expanding their sound with production input from renowned figures like Danger Mouse, Paul Epworth, and Ewan Pearson. After the genre-blending mix album *Tapes* (2008) and bassist Safer’s 2009 departure, the band returned with *In the Grace of Your Love* (2011), reaffirming their partnership with DFA Records.

Known for their electrifying blend of dance-punk and electronic rock, The Rapture remains an influential and innovative force in alternative music, continuously shaping the dancefloor soundscape with their infectious energy and distinctive style.
