About giverupper

Giverupper is the solo project of J.T. Teichert, distinguished by its emotionally rich blend of dream pop and saxophone-driven melodies. With a focus on shedding the everyday masks people wear, Giverupper crafts music that feels both authentic and vulnerable. This artistic mission shines through on the warmly received EP *Uncommon Ground* (2022), where simple yet captivating melodies merge with lush, introspective instrumentation. Tracks like "I Like You" have garnered praise for their nostalgic yet fresh sound, evoking a bittersweet longing that resonates deeply with listeners.

Critics from outlets such as *Fifteen Minutes of Fame* commend Giverupper’s knack for delivering catchy, thoughtfully composed songs that hit just the right emotional notes. Meanwhile, *The Limelight Chicago* highlights the project's ability to balance a fresh take on familiar feelings, with the saxophone prominently setting Giverupper apart from typical indie pop acts.

Beyond the studio, Giverupper has impressed live audiences at venues like the Cubby Bear and Epiphany Golden Hour, where the project’s soulful and reflective performances further solidify its devoted following. Bringing together emotional vulnerability with inventive soundscapes, Giverupper invites listeners into a deeply personal and relatable musical journey—one marked by sincerity, artistry, and a unique sonic identity.
