About King Ayisoba

King Ayisoba, born Albert Apoozore in Ghana’s Upper East Region, is a pioneering musician celebrated for revitalizing traditional Ghanaian sounds through his mastery of the kologo, a two-stringed lute native to the northern parts of the country. Rooted in the rich musical heritage of the Frafra people, King Ayisoba’s artistry fuses the raw, earthy tones of the kologo with pulsating rhythms and modern beats, crafting a sound that is both timeless and fresh. His hypnotic vocal chants and socially conscious lyrics explore themes such as African identity, political corruption, and everyday struggles, resonating deeply with audiences at home and across the globe.

King Ayisoba rose to prominence with critically acclaimed albums like "Wicked Leaders" and "Modern Ghanaians" (2017), projects that highlight his skill in merging cultural preservation with contemporary storytelling. Known for his electrifying live performances, he has earned a devoted following throughout Europe, North America, and beyond. Collaborations with various artists have further broadened his musical influence, showcasing the universal appeal of his roots-driven sound. Through innovation and authenticity, King Ayisoba continues to break new ground, positioning himself as a vital figure in both the Ghanaian and international world music scenes.
