About Jimi Jules

Jimi Jules is a Swiss house music producer and DJ known for his distinctive blend of jazz-infused grooves and compelling electronic beats. Born in Lucerne to a Swiss musician father from a farming background and a mother of Caribbean descent, Jules developed a deep musical foundation early on. He studied jazz, mastering the trumpet and tuba, before earning a Master’s degree in music production from Zurich University of the Arts. Initially a vocalist and founder of the live electro band Le Dompteur, whose debut album was lost to a hard drive crash, he shifted focus towards DJing at Zurich’s influential Hive club. Despite a challenging start in DJing—his first performance was criticized by the club owner—Jules honed his skills to become a respected figure in the local scene.

His career-defining breakthrough arrived in 2014 through a collaboration with German producer Oliver $. The duo connected at Hive and later worked together in Berlin, releasing the *Earl EP*, which included the club hit "Soggy Cereal." Their single "Pushing On" became a pan-European sensation, topping the Beatport charts and earning release on Defected Records. This success secured Jules a residency at Berlin’s iconic Watergate club, elevating his profile on the international stage. Combining his jazz heritage with soulful, funky house rhythms, Jimi Jules continues to be a standout force in the European electronic music landscape.
