About The Prophet

The Prophet is an emerging rapper and songwriter from Ottawa, renowned for his intricate rhyme schemes and intense vocal delivery. Growing up primarily in the city’s east side, particularly around Centretown, he discovered hip hop at the age of twelve and embraced it as a profound outlet for self-expression and therapeutic writing. Inspired by legendary artists such as Nas, Eminem, The Notorious B.I.G., Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, Kanye West, T.I., and Lil Wayne, The Prophet developed a distinctive lyrical style rooted in meticulous wordplay and unfiltered authenticity.

By seventeen, he began recording his debut album, culminating in the 2021 SoundCloud release "Ground Zero." This project, crafted with minimalist tools—a basic microphone and laptop—in the confines of a small one-bedroom apartment, highlighted both his resourcefulness and dedication to the craft. "Ground Zero" also featured collaborations with fellow lyricists Tanatswa and Lounatic, further emphasizing his commitment to authentic storytelling within the hip hop community.

Continuing to independently release music, The Prophet aims to extend his reach beyond local boundaries and connect with a global audience. His raw sound, combined with vivid narratives and complex rhymes, marks him as a distinctive voice in the contemporary hip hop landscape, steadily carving a space among today’s influential lyricists.
