About Knee Gnaw

Knee Gnaw is a London-based violinist and composer who has carved a unique space within the experimental and shoegaze music scenes. Known for their inventive fusion of classical violin techniques with distorted drones, sharp melodies, and haunting field recordings, Knee Gnaw crafts richly textured soundscapes that evoke deep melancholy and introspection. By transforming the violin into an instrument of avant-garde expression, the artist blurs the lines between traditional string performance and contemporary noise aesthetics.

Their compositions weave layers of processed violin tones with ambient fragments and jagged, serrated melodies, creating immersive atmospheres that oscillate between beauty and unease. This distinctive approach showcases a profound understanding of texture and mood, positioning Knee Gnaw as a compelling voice in London’s underground music community. Their work resonates with fans seeking music that challenges conventional boundaries, blending organic sounds with electronic manipulation to push shoegaze into new, experimental territory.

Through each release, Knee Gnaw explores emotional depths and sonic possibilities, cementing their reputation as an innovative force in modern composition. Their music stands as a testament to the evolving landscape of experimental sound, captivating listeners with its haunting, melancholic allure and forward-thinking artistry.
