About Archie Thornhill

Archie Thornhill is a London-born songwriter and musician whose captivating debut album, *Greek Street* (2023), reflects both his formal training and lived experiences within the city’s rich musical landscape. At 24, Archie honed his craft while studying songwriting at the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) and working in West End bars, absorbing the vibrant stories and atmosphere of London’s nightlife. In 2022, he relocated to the Soho district, where his grassroots approach to building a career led him to perform numerous unpaid gigs at iconic venues such as Jazz After Dark—the very same club that famously helped launch Amy Winehouse’s career. These early performances paved the way for shows at celebrated stages including The Spice of Life and Ronnie Scott’s.

*Greek Street* is a 12-track collection that captures the spirit of Soho through a richly textured and guitar-driven sound. The album seamlessly blends an eclectic mix of influences, ranging from ’60s jazz and Bossa Nova to ’70s guitar rock and ’90s festival anthems. Across these diverse styles, Archie’s gentle, unpretentious vocals provide a warm, intimate thread that ties the record together. His music stands out for its authenticity, reflecting not only a deep understanding of musical tradition but also a fresh contemporary sensibility that resonates with listeners seeking heartfelt songwriting rooted in real-world experience.
