About Rev21

Rev21 is a dynamic eight-piece gospel jazz ensemble rooted in London’s vibrant music and church scenes. Comprising talented musicians—vocalists Lois Odell and Sam Wakeford, trumpeter Steven Nichols, trombonist Max McLeish, guitarist Matt Nunn, keyboardist Josh Stidwill, bassist Isaac Merchant, and drummer Dan Watt—the band combines rigorous musical training with a shared passion for creative expression and spirituality. Drawing inspiration from gospel greats like Israel Houghton and Kirk Franklin, alongside the powerful brass-driven sound of Tower of Power and Trombone Shorty, Rev21 crafts a unique fusion of soulful grooves and rich horn arrangements.

Since their emergence, Rev21 has captivated diverse audiences with performances that radiate warmth, energy, and musical precision. Their 2024 debut album, "Let Them Hear," showcases a compelling mix of original compositions and innovative reimaginings of gospel classics. Through these genre-crossing arrangements, the band bridges generations while maintaining a heartfelt message rooted in faith. Whether playing in intimate community spaces or larger venues, Rev21 consistently delivers music that uplifts, inspires, and invites listeners into a deeply soulful and vibrant worship experience.
