About UB40 featuring Ali Campbell & Astro

UB40 featuring Ali Campbell & Astro is a celebrated reunion of two founding members from the legendary British reggae band UB40, known for shaping the UK reggae scene since their formation in 1979. Ali Campbell, whose distinctive vocals became the hallmark of the band’s sound, left the original group in 2008 amid disputes over management—a situation later vindicated when those managers faced industry sanctions. In 2013, Campbell reunited with fellow original member Astro, reigniting the chemistry that defined UB40’s golden era. Together with a dynamic eight-piece band, they continue to perform iconic hits and create fresh material, maintaining the authentic reggae spirit that propelled the original ensemble to international acclaim.

Between 1979 and 2008, with Campbell and Astro at the forefront, UB40 earned multiple number-one albums, achieved gold and platinum certifications, received Grammy nominations, and sold over seventy million records worldwide. Their legacy includes four global chart-topping singles that remain staples of reggae and pop playlists. While the UB40 name continued with a different lineup after their departure, UB40 featuring Ali Campbell & Astro offers fans the genuine sound of the band’s most influential period. Their live performances and recordings blend timeless melodies with innovative interpretations, underscoring their lasting impact on reggae music and securing their status as enduring pioneers of the genre.
