About León Benavente

León Benavente, formed in Madrid in 2012, is a seminal force in the Spanish indie rock scene, comprised of seasoned musicians Abraham Boba (vocals and keyboards), Eduardo Baos (bass and synthesizers), Luis Rodríguez (guitar), and César Verdú (drums). The band quickly gained momentum with their self-titled debut album "León Benavente" (2013, Marxophone), which opened doors to major Spanish festivals and sold-out venues, extending their appeal into Latin America. Their follow-up album, "2" (2016, Warner Music), solidified their standing, fueling a year-long national tour that included successful dates in Mexico and Portugal.

In 2019, León Benavente released "Vamos a Volvernos Locos" (Warner Music), which became Spain’s second best-selling album during its launch week. This commercial success was matched by extensive touring, further expanding their fanbase across multiple countries. Their latest record, "ERA" (2022), explores themes of closure and renewal, accompanied by a nationwide tour of theaters and clubs, showcasing their signature dynamic sound and compelling live performances.

Known for blending introspective lyrics with powerful instrumentation, León Benavente stands out as one of contemporary Spanish rock’s most innovative and commercially successful acts. Their evolution from an acclaimed debut to thoughtful, ambitious projects underscores their lasting impact on Spain’s vibrant music landscape.
