About Iguana Death Cult

Iguana Death Cult, formed in the Netherlands in 2014, quickly emerged as a magnetic force within the European psych and garage rock scenes. Combining razor-sharp guitar riffs from Tobias Opschoor, the dynamic drumming of Uri Rennert, groovy percussion and synth layers by Jimmy de Kok, and the commanding vocals of frontman Jeroen Reek, the band skillfully fuses punk energy with psychedelic flair. Their debut album, "The First Stirrings of Hideous Insect Life" (2017), laid the groundwork for their raw, gritty sound, while 2019’s "Nude Casino" received acclaim for its vivid, playful spirit—Paste magazine noting its ability to evoke "the colorful mischief of nights out where even a humdrum accountant can feel like a Clint Eastwood desperado."

Touring extensively, Iguana Death Cult has shared stages with acts like Osees and Frankie and the Witchfingers, supported Jack White, and impressed audiences at major festivals including SXSW, Levitation Festival, and Desert Daze. Their 2023 album, "Echo Palace" (Innovative Leisure), marked a daring expansion into art-punk and funk-infused territory, reflecting introspective themes born from turbulent times. Mixed by Joo-Joo Ashworth and mastered by Dave Cooley, this record showcased a more experimental side.

Returning to their garage rock roots on the punchy "Guns Out" (Greenway & RVRB Records), the band channels raw energy to confront both personal struggles and the chaotic world around them. With a revitalized lineup and an unyielding passion for rock ’n’ roll, Iguana Death Cult continues to push creative boundaries, securing their reputation as one of Europe’s most electrifying psych-rock acts.
