About Motorpsycho

Motorpsycho, a pioneering Norwegian band named after a Russ Meyer film, has established itself as one of Norway’s most versatile and enduring rock acts since its formation in the late 1980s. The trio is renowned for its eclectic blend of progressive rock, psychedelia, alternative rock, folk, hard rock, jazz, country, and classic heavy metal, creating a sound that defies conventional genre boundaries. Their breakthrough came with the ambitious double album "Demon Box" (1993), which earned a Norwegian Grammy nomination and solidified their reputation as a formidable creative force.

Over the years, Motorpsycho has continued to innovate and push musical limits with landmark albums such as "Phanerothyme" (2001) and "Child of the Future" (2009). In 2014, they delivered "Here Be Monsters," a project commissioned by the Teknisk Museum that showcased their flair for conceptual depth. Between 2017 and 2020, the band embarked on an ambitious trilogy, beginning with the double album "The Tower" (2017), followed by "The Crucible" (2019) and concluding with "The All Is One" (2020). These works highlighted their experimental edge and versatility.

Returning to their hard rock roots, Motorpsycho released the expansive double album "Kingdom of Oblivion" (2021), followed by "Ancient Astronauts" (2022), further cementing their status as a vital and constantly evolving force in contemporary rock music. Their unique ability to blend diverse styles continues to captivate audiences worldwide and underscores their lasting impact on the global music scene.
