About Shlohmo

Shlohmo, the artistic alias of Los Angeles-born Henry Laufer, stands as a pioneering force in contemporary electronic music. Emerging from the lo-fi bedroom producer scene, he first gained widespread acclaim with his debut album, "Bad Vibes" (2011), a brooding and atmospheric work that fused elements of shoegaze, R&B, doom metal, screwed music, and IDM into a uniquely dark soundscape. This distinctive blend set the foundation for Laufer’s evolving style, marked by ominous textures and haunting moods.

Building on this momentum, Shlohmo released two critically praised albums: "Dark Red" (2015), which deepened his exploration of unsettling yet emotive electronics, and "The End" (2019), further showcasing his ability to merge experimental sound design with emotional depth. Alongside his solo projects, he gained recognition for collaborative works such as the "No More" EP (2014) with R&B singer Jeremih, highlighting his versatility and genre-crossing appeal.

As the founder of Wedidit Records, an influential Los Angeles-based label and artist collective, Shlohmo has cultivated a platform for innovative electronic musicians while continuing to expand his creative horizons. His production talents have attracted collaborations with high-profile artists like Drake, The Weeknd, Post Malone, Joji, Banks, and Yung Lean—most notably contributing to remixes such as "Crew Love."

Shlohmo’s 2020 EP, "Heaven Inc.," features the evocative single "Looking at Plants," accompanied by striking visuals that underscore his commitment to pushing artistic boundaries. Through his groundbreaking productions and influential collaborations, Shlohmo remains a defining voice in shaping modern electronic and alternative music.
