About Pedro Guerra

Pedro Guerra is a renowned Spanish singer-songwriter who began his musical journey at the age of 14, composing songs and starting to sing two years later. His move to Madrid in 1993 marked a turning point, as his songwriting quickly gained the attention of prominent Spanish artists like Paloma San Basilio, Víctor Manuel, and Ana Belén, who incorporated his work into their repertoires. In 1994, Guerra's song "Ondas" earned the distinction of being named Spain’s best song of the year, solidifying his position in the national music scene.

Guerra’s debut live album, "Golosinas," introduced his evocative style, blending poignant lyrics with melodic, folk-infused arrangements. This was followed by his 1997 studio album "Tan Cerca de Mí," recorded in both Paris and Madrid, reflecting his artistic growth and international aspirations. Beyond traditional songwriting, Pedro Guerra showcased his versatility by composing the full soundtrack for the film "Mararía," directed by José Betancor. This orchestral score, performed by the Canary Islands Philharmonic Orchestra, received a nomination from the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Sciences for Best Movie Soundtrack, highlighting his multifaceted talent.

With a career spanning decades, Pedro Guerra remains a distinguished figure in contemporary Spanish music, celebrated for his heartfelt songwriting, collaborations with esteemed artists, and contributions to both the music and film industries.
