About Canteca de Macao

Canteca de Macao is a Madrid-based band renowned for their vibrant fusion of reggae, ska, flamenco, punk, and Latin rhythms. Emerging in the early 2000s, they quickly became one of Spain’s most distinctive musical collectives, winning acclaim for their energetic live shows and socially conscious lyrics. Their songs often tackle political issues, immigration, and working-class struggles with a mix of humor and raw authenticity, striking a chord with diverse audiences across Spain, Europe, and Latin America.

Throughout their career, Canteca de Macao released several critically praised albums, including *Hasta Aquí Hemos Llegao* (2007) and *El Último Baile* (2013), which showcase their seamless blend of traditional Spanish folk and Caribbean beats infused with punk energy. Their powerful performances made them festival favorites, solidifying a dedicated fanbase drawn to their message and musical innovation.

In 2017, the band announced the *El Último Trago Tour*, marking their farewell to live performances after more than a decade influencing Spain’s alternative music scene. This final tour closed a chapter for a group celebrated not only for their infectious rhythms but also for their commitment to authentic storytelling and cultural dialogue. Canteca de Macao’s legacy lives on, inspiring new generations of artists who strive to marry musical creativity with meaningful social commentary.
