About Pignoise

Pignoise is a Spanish punk band that emerged from an unexpected crossroads between sports and music. Founded by Álvaro, a former semi-professional soccer player with Getafe CF and Real Madrid, the band’s origins stem from a career-ending injury that led him to explore guitar and songwriting during his recovery. Álvaro teamed up with Polo, another ex-footballer on drums, and Pablo, a drama student who had moved to Madrid, completing the trio. Initially, Pignoise wrote songs in English but soon embraced their native Spanish, carving out a distinct place in Spain’s burgeoning punk scene.

Their early releases, including *Melodías Desafinadas* and *Esto No Es un Disco de Punk*, attracted underground attention yet achieved limited commercial success. Pignoise’s major breakthrough arrived with their third album, *Anunciado en Televisión* (2007). This record featured standout tracks like "Nada Que Perder," which gained national recognition as the theme song for the hit TV series *Los Hombres de Paco*. The album’s widespread radio play and the band’s dynamic live performances propelled it to gold status, firmly establishing Pignoise as a cornerstone of Spanish pop-punk.

With a compelling backstory and a blend of punk energy and catchy melodies, Pignoise continues to maintain a dedicated fanbase, contributing significantly to the evolution of Spain’s contemporary rock landscape.
